Sorry for the rc5 stats outage. Paul should be getting the new rc5 stats up
today (hopefully in a few hours), so everyone should be able to slake their
thirst for stats at that time.
Moo!
distributed.net staff keep (relatively) up-to-date logs of their activities in .plan files. These were traditionally available via finger, but we've put them on the web for easier consumption.

Stats are back on again, after a Sybase restart, and things appear to be back
to normal. I have firewalled the 6 IP’s that were causing the most load, but
I’ll probably remove the ban soon, depending on how it affects load. While I
would like to support those who want to play with the stats data in a more raw
form, it’s not fair to all the other users if they’re noticeably slowing things
down for everyone else.

I have stats turned off right now. The RC5 run was going very slowly and
wouldn’t have finished today. This might be due to people page-scraping, but
I’m not sure (6 IP’s account for 22% of the last 500,000 web requests). After
the statsrun is done I’ll restart Sybase and see if that helps.

RC5 statsrun didn’t happen last night; I just started it. Should be done in a
few hours.

Had some issues with the master today, so stats are reporting low (especially
for OGR). Everything should catch up tomorrow or the day after.
:: 10-May-2002 00:10 GMT (Friday) ::
Had a snafu on OGR stats today, so I’ve rolled back to May 7th and will be
re-running them. This will also delay RC5 stats.

Sorry for the lack of rc5 updates the past few days. The problem is that the
old log-push mechanism broke after we moved the master. I haven’t bothered to
have dbaker fix it because we were supposed to be using the new stats system
for rc5 several weeks ago, but Paul hasn’t had a chance to finish it yet (and
was sick for the past week).
I’ve queued up transfers for the next several days, and I’m hoping that we’ll
convert to the new rc5 system this week, in which case this won’t be an issue
anymore.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Now that blower is happily talking to the master again, it’s busy processing
the current backlog. RC5 should be done in 12 hours or so, and OGR not too long
after that.
:: 12-Apr-2002 17:44 GMT (Friday) ::
Hrm… guess we don’t need teams for OGR-24 anymore…
(just kidding)
I’m re-generating the data right now, should be done in 1/2 hour or so. Also, I
think I found the bug in the statproc code, so hopefully we’ll be able to catch
up as soon as the master comes back online.
