staff blogs

distributed.net staff keep (relatively) up-to-date logs of their activities in .plan files. These were traditionally available via finger, but we've put them on the web for easier consumption.

Blower was updated to the latest version of PHP tonight.
Everything seems to be working fine now, however initially stats was
showing up as though users had completed 1 block, due to a PHP bug.

Ilia (one of the PHP QA team) located the bug straight away for me, so
things should be back to normal.

If anyone spots any other issues which may be due to this update,
then please drop me an email.

As a lot of you have noticed stats are currently behind.
Decibel who was looking at stats and posted a plan update on 13 june,
is away and is due back tomorrow.

Stats are unlikely to be run until decibel gets back and has had time to
look at them.

The stats pages are now running the new codebase, and although there are
still some issues to be resolved, seem to be running smoothly.

We had to remove one SQL query from the php pages which was causing sybase
problems, and are looking at the best way to fix this.

If anyone has any further issues or problems with the stats code, then you

Hello,

Firstly, as some of you may know I’ve been helping out with distributed.net
for a while now with the php and with help@distributed.net mail.

I’m going to be taken stats down for hopefully a short period to look at
migrating the php code to the single codebase that decibel has previously i
mentioned.

We have moved stuff around quite a bit in doing this. If you do discover
problems with the new pages, which you’d like to discuss/inform us of,
then please email me at paul@distributed.net

I’ll post a plan update later on once I’ve finished with the stats pages.
