It’ll be Insanely Great…
distributed.net staff keep (relatively) up-to-date logs of their activities in .plan files. These were traditionally available via finger, but we've put them on the web for easier consumption.

I’m working on AppleScript and Apple Event upgrades for new MacOS clients.
Eventually this will allow for full scripting control of the client, and
if things go as planned, for a “Remote Control” style application (ala
NT’s Remote Cows) for managing networks of distributed.net MacOS clients.

I’ve changed my direction with the Mac FBA.
It is based on the standard Mac client with an option for hidden
(“faceless”) execution very much like the Win32 client.
This makes much more sense as we can now concentrate on _one_ set of code
rather than two separate sets (the standard client and a modified faceless
branch)
Oh yeah, it’ll have a wicked kewl “About” box… :)
On a personal note: I’ll be down in Orlando, Florida visiting my brother
November 26 – 29. If anyone is in the area and wants to get together for a
refreshment, drop me a line.

D-Oh…
One of the testing boxes for the FBA crashed yesterday.
On a good note, it wasn’t the iMac.

A fix for the Mac Faceless Background App (FBA) is now in testing.
It addresses a couple of the issues being reported, namely:
– Crashes on execution, especially on the iMac.
– It now uses the standard config file.

How I let cyp hook me like a fish on this I’ll never know…
I have no life now, Danielle is a distributed-widow, and
I don’t even have time for beer.
Work on the Mac Client must go on! :)
