staff blogs

distributed.net staff keep (relatively) up-to-date logs of their activities in .plan files. These were traditionally available via finger, but we've put them on the web for easier consumption.

Due to some shuffling at best.net, we’re changing the IP of statsbox-ii.
The time to live in DNS is pretty short, so it’s quite likely you’ll not
experience any difficulties, but in case you do just be patient.

The new IP is 206.86.248.100 if your local DNS hasn’t refreshed yet.

amazingly enough, there are finally new MacOS 68k clients (412f) that
don’t crash on OSes previous to 7.6.x. Check out clients.html.

I’ll be out of town until Thursday evening. Mike Silbersack (silby@distributed.net)
and Peter Gildea (peter@distributed.net) will be handling technical issues in my absence.
Please contact them accordingly.

Gordon “grub” Grieder is responsible maintaining my level of attitude
in #distributed.

Moo.

Slow but steady progress.

You’ll note that participant summaries are (mostly) online now. dbaker
has gotten the password mailer working, but it’s still too ugly for
public consumption. Needs to be polished up a bit and then I can link
to it.

Next up is to wrap up the “edit my info” page, at which point team joining
will be completely wrapped up. Shortly thereafter I need to add in the
pages to add a new team.

Keep watching, it’s going to move pretty fast from here on out.

Just a quick note today: The first complete OGR stub has run through my
test client! We’re well on our way, folks.
