Well, as of about 10 minutes ago, the stats database on tally is now
completely up-to-date. Flood-filling in the back logs provided a great
opportunity to ferret out the bugs in the new daily.pl wrapper script
that handles the logistics of a daily update.
A full daily update is taking just the other side of an hour on the new
hardware, so I think you’ll all be pleasantly surprised when it goes into
production.
What happens next (well, some time this week…) is that I need to
physically relocate the machine to best.net where it will have the
bandwidth it needs to feed all the stats-mongers out there. There also
remains the minor detail of porting all the old code to php, which will
take a good bit of labor as well.
I would expect to continue to see new and interesting “demo” type pages
show up throughout the week, reflecting live data. Especially after the
relocation. Thanks again for all your patience. We’re working on this
as fast as we can.
